Panhandle is a complete facility for retreats, camping, natural resource education and of course relaxation and fun. We accommodate large and small groups. Click on each photo below to expand.

The Lodge:

Renovated in 1994 and immaculately kept since then, the lodge is a total of 6,062 square feet of space. The main floor is an open concept with a cozy fireplace and boasts a large stage for entertainment as well as a piano. Upstairs is a moderate sized board room perfect for your next meeting and the outdoor mezzanine overlooks the grassy hillside and private lake. If your next event calls for folding tables and chairs, don't worry, we have plenty!

The Lodge Sleeping Accommodations:

The lodge is complete with 28 beds within the main lodge area, each one close to restroom facilities and a fully equipped accessory kitchen (not to be confused with the commercial kitchen and dining hall, see more below). Each dorm-style room has partitions to create more privacy for overnight visitors.

The LODGE ACCOMMODATIONS:

You don't have to leave the lodge for amenities, it has a men's and women's restroom complete with handicap accessible shower, several smaller rooms that are versatile and have been used for nurse's quarters and camp offices in the past and plenty of space for many overnight guests.

The FIRE PIT & AMPHITHEATER

A multi-functional, open-air venue with tiered seating all around and a breathtaking view, perfect for any outdoor get-together or possibly the site for lakeside entertainment. Roast s'mores, listen to some music and gaze out into the stars glistening above the lake.

WATERfront:

Slip resistant docks provide separate areas for fishing, swimming and boating. Paddle boats, canoes and life vests are available to rent.

Dormitory Sleeping:

The dormitory is 3,819 square feet with 2 separate sleeping areas, each with 13 bunk beds for a total of 26 sleeping accommodations per room. Each sleeping area has its own separate restroom facilities complete with several toilets and showers in each area.

Sleeping Accommodations - Cabins:

Throughout the grounds you'll find 21 open-air, Adirondack cabins with 12-15 sleeping spaces each.  Along with the lodge sleeping accommodations and the dormitories, Panhandle Camp can house over 300 overnight guests.

RESTROOM/Shower House:

This building is roughly 1400 square feet and has men's and women's toilets, sinks and showers.

Kitchen: 

The kitchen and dining hall are a combined 3,919 square feet of space. The kitchen is a fully equipped commercial kitchen with an 8'X10' walk-in cooler, Hobart mixer, commercial propane stove/griddle/oven, commercial dishwasher, large convection oven, 2 extra refrigerators, 2 large freezers and a large storage pantry. The kitchen also has sleeping quarters with 2 bunk beds and a private restroom and shower for the cooking crew. The northwest corner of the building is a utility and supply room complete with a washing machine and dryer.

DINING HALL:

The dining hall is connected to the commercial kitchen. It has eighteen, 12 foot tables with 6 foot benches for seating up to 220 people. A major renovation of this area was complete in January of 2016.

BBQ PIT & PICNIC AREA:

The BBQ area is a covered, open-air space roughly 800 square feet. There is a framed in half-wall around the building with cedar shingle exterior. The area comes with several picnic tables and a BBQ pit perfect for your next shindig!

Livestock Facility:

This 7,920 square foot building includes two tack rooms with locking doors and 38 stalls with rubber mat flooring. There are electrical outlets throughout the building and full access to water. The open-air arena is  220'X132' and is completely fenced, perfect for outdoor events like Junior Rodeo, horse shows and other large animal events.

The LAKE TRAIL:

Panhandle Lake is circled by a 1.6-mile lake trail. The trail is available year-round and has been well maintained. Along with the lake trail is another 5 miles of trails. Perfect for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding or maybe even a fun scavenger hunt!
